There is no wrong kind of love because, even when love destroys, it does so out of love. The drop of sand that will break the gears of your destiny or the drop of oil that will accelerate its motion—both will often come from those closest to you. For me, it was dunes of sand.
For 12 long years, I lived under the veil of obscurantism, wrestling against fate for fame and success, striving to prove I could “make it my way.” Yet, desire, hard work, and sacrifice are not enough without the right knowledge. And when there is no one else to teach you, life becomes your teacher—and life can be an unforgiving teacher.
I lost money I didn’t have to buy lessons I didn’t know I needed. Deep in the embrace of suffering, I finally chose acceptance over resistance and self-compassion over victimhood, and that decision set me on the path to Serenity.
Since people often use labels to define others, here are a few that relate to me: first and foremost, I am a disciple of the path to Serenity; a non-native English speaker; an ex-entrepreneur; a husband; a civil servant; an orderly in a mental institute; and the builder of the Words of Art community.
The path to Serenity has taught me many lessons, which I have distilled into principles I call Guiding Words—a mini-playbook to Serenity. It is the essence of what I’ve learned on my journey, and I hope it may serve you as well on your own path.

Whether we meet or not, may you find your way path to Serenity.
